Winners for the 2nd Scottish Asian Food Awards 2019 are revealed

Winners for the 2nd Scottish Asian Food Awards 2019 have been revealed after a glamorous, black-tie awards ceremony was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Monday the 25th of November in Glasgow.

The Award ceremony is the first of its kind and exists to recognise and reward a variety of Asian restaurants, takeaways and eateries across Scotland. It recognises those who work their hardest to service the Asian food industry which is growing and diversifying each year. The event celebrated the achievements of businesses and individuals who connect communities through food and culture. Categories included Korean Restaurant of the Year, Asian Street Food of the Year and 5 Star Indian Restaurant of the Year, reflecting Scotland’s love for all kinds of Asian cuisine.

Interfaith Scotland were charity partners for the event in celebration of Scottish Interfaith Week 2019 ‘Eat Share Love’. Director Maureen Sier said: “Nothing brings people together quite like food, which is why our theme for Scottish Interfaith Week 2019 was Eat Share Love – we were thrilled to be charity partners for this event that undoubtedly connected different communities through their love for good food.”

The Scottish Asian Food Awards 2019 were organised by Oceanic Consulting – the UK’s leading ethnic awards company. CEO Irfan Younis said:  “I’d like to say a massive congratulations to all winners and finalists from the 2nd Scottish Asian Food Awards 2019.
