Finalists for the 12th Scottish Curry Awards 2019 are revealed

Finalists for the 12th Official Scottish Curry Awards 2019 are now live following the huge success and growth of the campaign over last decade. The awards ceremony will follow Scottish Curry Day, launching on Sunday 7th April.

Nominations came in from the central belt to the Highlands, reflecting Scotland’s love for South-Asian cuisine. The Scottish Curry Awards exist to recognise and celebrate the devotion, service and tasty food provided by the best establishments in the industry, who work their hardest to perfect every meal. The renowned black-tie awards ceremony will take place on 15th April at Marriott Glasgow Hotel.

This year also marks the birth of the first-ever ‘Scottish Curry Day’ taking place on Sunday 7th April. Scottish Curry Day will be celebrated nationwide as a day for people to visit their favourite curry restaurants, make a curry at home, learn new recipes, visit their neighbours, and it will provide restaurants and takeaways with an opportunity to market themselves.

The Scottish Curry Awards 2019 are brought to you by Oceanic Consulting – the UK’s leading ethnic consulting and promotions organisation. With years of experience, they hold various world-class award ceremonies throughout major cities in Scotland and England annually. Oceanic Consulting events are a major fixture in the calendars of both the Asian community and wider population and generate media interest both locally and internationally.

Irfan Younis, CEO of Oceanic Consulting said: “The Scottish Curry Awards are very dear to my heart as they were one of the first events ever organised by Oceanic Consulting. I’ve watched them grow each year and the campaign evolved to include the English Curry Awards and the London Curry Awards, and I’m especially excited about the launch of Scottish Curry Day this year, which will remind us all why we feel in love with the dish all those years ago.”

The evening will help raise funds for The Well Foundation; a charity whose vision is to provide safe and clean drinking water for all.
